PRSA San Diego September 18 Luncheon to Focus on Native American Gaming ( )
SAN DIEGO, Sep 11, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In the last 20 years, Native American Gaming has become one the fastest growing industries in the United States, growing from $100 million to nearly $26 billion in revenue as of 2006. With this phenomenal growth has come heightened public perception and a variety of public relations challenges and opportunities. The San Diego Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will explore this topic during a luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at Napa Valley Grille atop Horton Plaza.
Issues discussed will include proposed legislation that will "reform Indian Gaming"; economic impact of Native American casinos on the San Diego County region; long-term PR challenges and what tribes are doing to impact public perception; and more.
The luncheon will feature a distinguished panel of speakers including:

-- Sheilla Alvarez, Intergovernmental Liaison for the Barona Band of Mission Indians
