Native American pow wow coming to Point Park Source: The Herald-News The Intertribal Festival Pow Wow has been moved to Sept. 11-13 at Cedar Point Park in Dayton. "Spirit of the Veteran and Warrior" pow wow will offer visitors a chance to visit an authentic native village and see living history demonstrations, tomahawk knife throwing, basket weaving and Native artwork as well as buy Native arts and crafts, pottery, regalia clothing, music, jewelry and bow and arrows. The gate will open on Friday, Sept. 11, and the festival will be from 10 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. each night. The cost is $3 for adults and $1 for kids. Friday night from 5 to 9 p.m. will be pow wow evening, with a grand entry of drums and dancers beginning at 7 p.m. Friday is free kids day with special events planned for children from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. They can visit Tepee villages with artifacts through the 1800s through present-day. Kids can also enjoy a candy run game and hoop dances. A special event on Friday will honor fallen soldiers and veterans as well.
