What Makes Legends Of Time A Unique Business Is Due To The Fact We Carry Many Items That Are Hand-made And In Some Cases One Of A Kind. You Will Not See Any Of The Art We Carry At The Mall Or Other Stores. We Carry Items That Are Unique, Spiritual And Made From Good Quality Materials. Most Of The Merchandise We Carry Is Made From Talented Native Artists Who Continue The Process Of Making Items The Way Their Grandfathers And Grandmothers Made Them. Native Peoples Are A Large Part Of American History, So Come On In And Get To Know More About The Native American Indians.
Q. How Did You First Decide To Open Your Own Business?
Dan Declark And I Have Worked For Corporations In The Past And Were Tired Of Making Them Money And Getting Nowhere In Our Jobs. So, In 1993 Dan And I Open Legends Of Time In Milford, And Then Four Years Later Opened A Second Store In Owosso. In 2001, We Closed Owosso And Re-opened The Store In Rochester. With My Cherokee Ancestry And Dan's Blackfoot And Cherokee Ancestry, We Wanted To Honor The Native American Culture By Showing The Community What Native People Have To Offer. Milford Store Has Been Open For 15+ Years And Rochester Has Been Open 7+ Years.
Q. How Did You Decide To Locate In The Huron Valley?
I (Robert) Live In Highland And Happened To Drive Through Milford And Saw The For Rent Sign. So We Checked Out What Milford Had To Offer And Liked What We Saw. We Love Milford Because Of The Unique Hometown Feel And How Everyone Seemed So Friendly. We Didn't See That In Other Towns We Were Checking Out.
Q. Do You Have A Funny Tidbit Or Story To Share With Our Readers About Your Experience So Far As A Small Business Owner?
One Day I Was Getting Ready To Take The Trash Out, Locked The Door And Left. On My Way Back I Had Stopped At A Few Stores To Say Hi. When I Got Back And Unlocked The Door, I Noticed I Had Locked A Customer In The Store The Whole Time I Was Gone. The Funniest Thing Is That The Customer Didn't Even Notice I Was Gone.
